Your Physical Performance is More Important than you Think

Sometimes we forget how crucial and significant our physical performance really is. It’s not only something that matters to aspiring athletes, it matters to each and every single one of us!

Our physical performance plays a vital role in our daily lives, from maintaining our health and well-being to simply getting through the day with energy and vitality. Whether we're aiming to break personal fitness goals or simply looking to feel strong and capable in our own bodies, physical performance matters. It impacts our mental clarity, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life. So let's remember to prioritize taking care of our bodies and staying active, because our physical performance truly does matter.

In the words of Nike founder Bill Bowerman, “if you have a body, you’re an athlete”. We’re all physical, moving beings, and the quality and capacity of our movement matters, regardless of what our goals or purpose might be.

Exercise is a neat little way we can push ourselves harder and exert ourselves as a means to adapt and overcome. By overcoming stresses on the body regularly, our bodies adapt and remodel to better manage that demand, eventually with ease.

This adaptation process is truly remarkable as it demonstrates the incredible resilience of the human body. When we engage in exercise, whether it's through cardiovascular activities, strength training, or yoga, we are essentially challenging our physical limits in a constructive manner. As we persist in our fitness journey, our muscles grow stronger, our cardiovascular system becomes more efficient, and our overall health and well-being improve. It's like a beautiful dance between effort and reward, where the more we push ourselves, the more our bodies rise to the occasion. So, the next time you lace up your sneakers or roll out your yoga mat, remember that each movement is not just a step towards physical fitness, but also a step towards personal growth and resilience.

Welcome to the world of exercise, which starts with the question, “how and where is my movement falling short? “In what way is my movement holding me back from performing at my best?”

If you don’t ask this question first then you're just exercising for the sake of exercising, where’s the fun in that?!
